The Alphabet of Villa le Barone

A as Authenticity: although completely renovated and providing all facilities expected of a modern hotel, including WiFi and internet connections(free), Villa le Barone has retained the character of a family home, with its antique furniture, paintings, rare books.

“Your Villa is simply beautiful. We felt like part of a family, yet had our own space. We enjoyed the gardens, the pool, the beautiful fragrant roses and the food. We will return ”
J and A C Melbourne Australia 19.05.2011

B as Beauty: “The problem with Italy is that it is too beautiful. Why paint when contemplating brings you so much joy?” wondered Pierre-Auguste Renoir, the famous impressionist painter. Yet rarely has a country produced so many artists and masterpieces. In addition, Italy is not only about art: it’s also about good living, gastronomy, wines…. and this is particularly true for Tuscany and Chianti.

“Beautiful. A slice of heaven! I will miss waking up to this incredible view”
UK June 2010

C as Chianti and C as Charm: Villa le Barone sits in the heart of Chianti, an area loved by all because of its unique protected landscape, with his countryside full of churches, abbeys, medieval hamlets, Villas and ancient farms. It is a land where nature coexists with art and history, a territory in which the Tuscans have sown their souls.

“What a charming place … You could look at the views forever! Bellissimo!”
CM Los Angeles USA 22.06.2011

D as Dining at Villa le Barone: Dinner prepared by our Tuscan cooks, is served in the former cellar of Villa le Barone or, weather permitting, on one of the terraces, in the greenery. It is a 5 course dinner, with a large buffet of “antipasti”, an entrée, a main dish, a choice of cheeses, a choice of fruits and desert….It is simple Tuscan food, such as “peposo” or “vitello tonnato” or “Chicken alla cacciatora”, prepared with fresh vegetables in season. And the recipes of the main dishes are given with the menu to help you cook Tuscan cuisine when you are back home!

“Wonderful spot! Love the scenery, the food, the wine, and the wonderful smell of honeysuckle”
J and F G Austin Texas 10 June 2011

E as Elegance: All rooms are constantly refurbished to be at the top of elegance and comfort … but also they are all different from each other … some larger, some smaller, some with a bigger bathroom than others. Villa Le Barone is an old Villa, walls cannot be pushed, but beauty and authenticity are there.

“The lounges are especially inviting, beautifully furnished with charming, family antiques. There are 28 guestrooms, all of which vary in size with modern tiled bathrooms and are individually decorated. Rooms are in the main villa or in renovated cottages and barns. Some have their own terrace.”
Karen Brown guides 2011

F as Fitness: The 500 meters fitness trail with 12 gym stations in nature, with views on the Chianti hills, with their vineyards and their olive groves, or in the shade of the arbutus and pine trees, has a real success. This is also true for the gym room, located in the ancient hay barn, with a lovely view on San Leolino! Villa le Barone is also a wonderful place to relax and resource oneself!

“And there is also a tennis court with a breathtaking view over the Chianti hills, a swimming pool romantically set on a terrace looking over the vineyards and rose garden …. Wonderful little hideaways are found secluded in the park-like setting where guests can find a quiet nook to read or just to sit and soak in the beauty of the surrounding hills.”
Karen Brown guide 2011

“The loviest, most relaxing place. Wonderful food, terrific hospitality”

G as Gardens: There are more than 500 rose bushes in Villa le Barone’s rose garden and there are many other plants to discover: the fruit trees , with plums , apricots, medlars, nuts, figs, kakis….; the many kinds of sage, the lavenders, the cists; the flower garden providing the cosmos , the dahlias, the zinnias for the bouquets waiting for guests in the in the bed rooms and the lounges; the terraces with heart shaped box hedges, or with lagerstroemias.

“The gardens at the Villa are so beautiful. What a wonderful place to stay and enjoy the Chianti region. We are very sad to go, but we will return soon.”
