Villa le Barone: Hydrandeas on a terrace

Several romantic gardens where to hide and relax, many terraces from which to contemplate the spectacular Chianti hills: at Villa le Barone, on a property of several acres, on a hilltop, you can forget about stress and treat yourself to a relaxing moment on the lawns among the roses and the olive trees, on one of the many terraces with flowers and various fruit trees…

Upon arrival at Villa le Barone, you are greeted by the green vine that covers the Villa, by the boxwood hedges that adorn the facade and surround the entrance, by the holm oaks. And you immediately discover the beautiful terrace with its umbrellas the color of the sun, shaded by horse chestnut trees planted there more than 100 years ago. Here, you can just relax, have a cold drink, read a good book, listen to the sweet sound of the fountain in a corner of the terrace.
Then you discover the private, but always open to visitors, vegetable and flowers garden of the owners where the flower bouquets that welcome you in your room are picked and where sage and rosemary are grown for the restaurant.
From that terrace, you can reach and cross the avenue of cypress trees and find yourself in a rose garden that surrounds the pool with, beyond the hedges, the stupendous views on the Chianti hills. An arch leads you on a large lawn where olive trees (which produce our wonderful extra virgin olive oil) are growing and fragrant rose beds! Here you will also find comfortable chairs where you can hide and let yourself go to a pleasant daydreaming admiring these unique landscapes… But move on even further and discover the terraces with rows of lagerstroemia (also known as crape myrtle) and fig trees and even further to the fruit orchard. A path on the left, lined with plum apricot, pear trees will take you to the tennis.

You will also enjoy discovering the “Garden of hearts” bordered with box, in the tradition of Florentine historic gardens, from where to admire beautiful sunsets. The sunbathed terrace for breakfast in the greenery, lined with hydrangeas and wisteria, will be moon bathed for dinner giving an especially romantic atmosphere!
Villa le Barone’s gardens in the heart of Chianti, have an indescribable charm that delights all romantics, poets and those looking for peace and quiet! Far from the noise of the city, you will wake up to the birds’ songs, hear cicadas at nap time and at dusk the concert of frogs from the small lake underneath the Villa.
