Grape harvest has started in Chianti, in the heart of which is located the country historic hotel Villa le Barone. This is a particularly good time to discover this magnificent region of Tuscany, its landscape, its hills, its olive groves, its vineyards. The grape harvest will start early September to end late October. The grapes, picked by hand, are harvested according to the ripeness of the different kinds of vine: San Giovese, which must be over 80% of the wine to get the DOCG Chianti Classico label, Malvasia, Trebbiano, Colorino, Canaiolo.
The “Vendemmia” is a very important event in Chianti, one of the most famous wine territories in Tuscany. Participating in the various “wine festivals” held in the main towns of Chianti at the time of the grape harvest is a unique festive experience! First, the “Rassegna del Vino” took place in Greve in Chianti from September 8 to 11. “Vino al Vino” is taking place in Panzano in Chianti from September 15 to 18: you buy a glass and you can taste all the best wines of Chianti you want, you enjoy the joyful atmosphere on the shady square of Panzano, and … you can quietly walk back from Panzano and relax at Villa Le Barone, waiting for a wonderful dinner! Beginning October, you can also participate in other typical events, such as the “Festa della Vendemia” in Mensano , where you will find the authentic atmosphere of a medieval village.
From the gardens of hotel Villa le Barone, from its swimming pool, its tennis, its “fitness trail”, you have magnificent views on the vineyards which are taking their autumn colors. Wineries in Panzano and the surrounding villages, such as Volpaia, Radda in Chianti, Castellina in Chianti, Gaiole in Chianti are actively preparing for the grape harvest… a special perfume pervades the surroundings, that of wine beginning to ferment.
So do not miss this wonderful harvest period in the charming hotel Villa le Barone in Chianti in Tuscany.
