At Panzano in Chianti every Sunday morning, the market is held on the square Bucciarelli and the surrounding streets. It will take you just 20 minutes to walk to the market from Villa Barone! You will find there vegetables, fruits, cheeses, Tuscan specialties, and  also flowers and plants for the garden, clothing, shoes, hats and items for the home! On the first Sunday of the month, the market is growing: it is the “Aprilante” market with its stalls of antiques, jewelry, paintings, local products … But above all, do not miss the shop of Dario Cecchini, the internationally renowned butcher, a shop open to all, animated by the vivacious spirit of Dario, who recites Dante and will probably offer you a glass of wine and “crostini Toscani” !

On Saturday mornings the market is held in Greve in Chianti. It attracts many residents of the surrounding villages, and there is plenty of activity in the square Matteotti, the main triangular square of the city, dominated by the statue of Giovanni da Verrazzano, the famous navigator born in Greve who discovered the Hudson Bay.  You will find there merchants of all kinds with their colorful stalls covered by large white canvas tents.  There is also a lot going on under the arcades that surround the square, with shops also offering many typical products: wicker baskets, ceramics, cold cuts, cakes  … And you can furthermore stop at one of the many coffee shops to get a delicious “espresso” or “cappuccino”! You can also walk from Villa le Barone to Greve: it will take you about 1h30 trough beautiful paths in the middle of vineyards! We will give you a detailed itinerary!

And, every Wednesday morning, you might wish to explore the market of Siena, 40 minutes from Villa le Barone by car. …Always nearby, you can go to the markets of Mercatale, Poggibonsi, Castellina in Chianti, Radda ..!
