The boutique hotel Villa le Barone in Chianti is proud of hosting in September 2016 another sculpture exhibition from Marina des Tombe, Dutch sculptor. From the Villa, many other modern art exhibitions can be visited such as the Chianti Sculpture Park or Castello di Ama.
Marina des Tombe is a creative Dutch sculptor but also a painter who settled in Chianti after having studied in different art schools in Holland, France and Italy.
Her sculptures, mostly female figures or animals, as well as their titles (such as Siamo su I pali, Donna nella borsa, The circle, Vivere, Love), are reflecting her own emotions. Marina often combines found objects and diverse materials together with bronze.
Her work is exhibited in various galleries in Holland iAmsterdam, Utrecht), Italy (Colle Vald’Elsa , San Gimignano) , Switzerland … She works on commission if requested, and paints portraits. She often gives painting courses to Villa le Barone’s guests.
