From 9 to 18 July, Andrew Lattimore, a famous US painter, will hold a plein air painting workshop in Chianti at Villa le Barone. Tuscany, Chianti, and Florence have historically been part of artists ’Grand Tour’ as they sought to enlighten and cultivate their sense of art, aesthetics and history. There is only a few places left! For more information contact info@villalebarone.com.

What better place than Chianti to draw and paint? As Andrew Lattimore, who has spent many years in Tuscany, says: “you will find enchantment and inspiration trough the beauty of the landscape and majestic history of Italy. There are wonderful views to paint from the property; rolling hills, silver-leaved olive groves, flower gardens, vineyards, and so much more.” And, in addition to painting, participants in the workshop will enjoy the Italian “dolce vita”, the exquisite Tuscan food, and the wonderful Chianti wines!

There will be a total of ten days of painting instruction on the property as well as on surrounding areas. Each day will consist of 4 to 6 hours of plein air painting instruction, critiques, and demos. (With the exception of two days when participants are free to paint or explore Tuscany). Andrew Lattimore teaches mostly in oil paint, but those who prefer other mediums, i.e. Pastel, watercolor, pencil are welcome too. Whatever one is most comfortable with.
