The historic Larderel Palace in via Tornabuoni in Florence will be the place to admire the exhibition “Seasons” of Bertozzi &Casoni, well known artists using a wide range of techniques and ceramic materials of industrial origin. The exhibition, hosted by the Gallery G & Q Fine Arts in collaboration with the art gallery Gian Enzo Sperone, will be opened from March 18th to April 17th.
Celebrated at the Venice Biennale and in the art capitals of the world, Bertoni & Casoni will bring to Florence the bags inspired by women’s image such as the bag of Peggy Guggenheim and the Frida Kahlo case, specifically created for the exhibition “Seasons”, as well as some of their iconic works: electric chair with butterflies (exhibited at the Venice biennale in 2011), reflection in the bar (2008), Cuccia Brillo (2003), the Andy Warhol’s Brillo Box. Between surrealism and formal hyperrealism, Bertozzi & Casoni investigate the waste of our contemporary society.
After a first artistic training in Faenza at the Art Institute for Ceramics, Bertozzi and Casoni founded their company in 1980 in Imola to focus on the characters and the reasons for a “new ceramics”. Important is the collaboration (1985-1990) with the Cooperativa Ceramica di Imola where they work as researchers in the Trials and Research Centre on Ceramics. G & Q Art gallery Fine Arts in Florence was born in April 2015 by the passion and love for Florence Pilar Pandini, art expert with years of experience. The gallery where the exhibition is taking place is located in the historic Palazzo Larderel, in via Tornabuoni, in a first floor space measuring about 400 square meters.
